Derek has a master's degree in chiropractic which he achieved after six years of full time study at the University of Technology in South Africa in 2003. He has recently become a proud father and is a dedicated family man! He has a passion of active living and enjoys keeping healthy playing squash, golf and kite surfing.
Derek was first exposed to chiropractic after seeking treatment for an injury as a young sportsman. Intrigued by his recovery, he has had a passion and dedication to the profession ever since. He had this to say, “Since chiropractic was founded, it has been a safe, effective and most importantly, natural treatment option for many. Chiropractic achieves its results without the use of drugs or surgery and aims not only to alleviate pain but also to maximise on one’s health potential.”
Whilst completing his master's degree, Derek became intrigued at the relationship between poor muscle functioning and joint injury. As a result, he recommends combining chiropractic treatment with gentle stretching and strengthening exercises. Combining strengthening exercises with your chiropractic treatment aims to not only improve the condition but also to help reduce recurrence.
Andrew is a graduate of the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Oxfordshire.
Since graduating Andrew has worked in a number of busy clinics seeing a variety of patients ranging from young children, professional athletes, and everyday sufferers of posture and work related pains.
Andrew has always strived to assist his patients from all backgrounds to achieve their goals whether it's to complete a marathon of simply to pick up their children without pain.
