Meet Liz Mould

Play Therapist

Crossgates, Rothwell, and Colton Chiropractic Clinics's Liz MouldSince embarking upon a career as a Play Therapist in 2008, Liz has developed many areas of interest in relation to children’s psychological functioning and wellbeing. Working mainly in a ‘non-directive’ capacity with children and young people; attachment, neuroscience, neurodiversity, sensory processing and polyvagal theory, have all positively influenced and shaped her play therapy practice over the years.

Liz has a special interest, experience and expertise in working with neurodivergent children and young people, particularly children with an Autism and/or ADHD diagnosis or a behaviour presentation similar to characteristics of such conditions. Liz has undertaken significant training in this field in relation to the social and emotional difficulties and needs associated with neurodevelopmental conditions.

EXPLORE PLAY THERAPY

Approach To Care

Children frequently struggle to process, understand and articulate their feelings. Liz believes strongly in building trusting positive relationships with children, alongside engaging with them in their natural communication of play, combined with providing appropriate emotional responses, attunement and acceptance, in helping bring about positive change, resolution and building resilience.

As a Play Therapist, Liz has worked in mainstream schools, educational settings, school clusters and a behaviour support team over the years. More recently, Liz has worked as a Play Therapist in a children’s residential home and also in private practice.
